Daisy Flowers are everywhere and in everything

Did you know that absinthe comes from a plant in the daisy family? Even something as seemingly far from a family of flowers as a crunchy lettuce in the family too. These are some of the interesting things you might find if you look at general information about the daisy family Asteraceae flowers called.

In addition to these general facts, there are some pretty amazing things to learn about flowers (including the common daisy) that you may be unaware of. For example, the head of the common Daisy is in fact not only a beautiful flower - every little button on the head of the flower is a flower itself, each petal is not a leaf, but a long, narrow ray flowers. Part of this is based only on the way plants are classified, but it may spark some pretty interesting realizations about the world smaller in the beautiful flowers around us, it's almost like learning for the first time the things are made of molecules, atoms and molecules.

So the next time you bite into a delicious lettuce, taking a sip of absinthe, or relax with a cup of chamomile tea, remember that all the plants they are derived from are related to the common daisy. Remember that seeing a field of daisies is not really a field of some daisy flowers, but instead a collection of flower bundles in the form of what we consider to be one of the most common flowers around. This flower has survived and developed for thousands of years and become one of the most prosperous family of plants for a reason other than the many commercial applications - it really is an amazing organism.
